I remember being a tween and wanting all the Coach signature things. The bags the wristlet, the jewelry. I even recall a monumental moment in my young fashion years when I bought my first pair of designer shoes with my hard-earned money while I was a Nordstrom B.P. intern.
They were a pair of Coach, brown kitten heel signature C pumps. With a leather cap toe and a buckle. They were kind of hideous now that I think about them. But they meant so much to me. It’s one of the few fashion purchases I truly remember from my younger years.
These memories came flooding back to me when I ordered a pair of the Coach Leah platform loafers (I took my usual size for flats, an 8.5, more on that below). I really asked myself “am I actually buying something from Coach?” Like, are they still a thing? I know they still have stores and are obviously making bags and shoes.
But are they “in”? Are people into it? I’m sure many people will say that they never went away. It’s a classic brand. But you can’t deny the hold that those signature C’s, especially in pink, had on us all in our teenage and college years. Or the nylon tote bag, remember this?
So while I’m sure their classic black leather bags like this one stayed in style, this was definitely a brand that I wrote off years ago. Not anymore. And since these have quickly become my go-to loafer, I figured it’s time for a proper Coach Leah loafer review. These shoes have been available now for years from teh brand and are clearly a core style in their shoe collection, as well as in my own closet.

Coach Leah Loafer Review: Are They Worth It?
This is the shoe that got Coach back on my radar quickly. I was browsing online for a chunky loafer. And honestly, I’ve been browsing for at least two years now. Even bought the very popular Sam Edelman Laurs loafer that I quickly returned, not to be confused with the very similar Sam Edelman Lea loafer that is also just too chunky for me. I even owned for a hot second, the Sam Edelman Loraine loafer. Didn’t love either and donated them after a couple of wears. Just so not me.
So when I saw these Coach ones, I thought they were super cute. They didn’t seem too chunky (which was my goal) and they didn’t seem too minimal. Kind of like the perfect in-between.
I also find myself struggling with a low ankle, anyone else? I try on flats and the sides of the shoe hit my ankles and it’s so irritating. Makes them impossible to wear. These didn’t do that to me! A win!
TIP: It turns out you can actually avoid the low ankle situation by buying these inserts for your shoes. I haven’t tried it yet but saw this tip in a TikTok and have to give it a try.

Do Coach Leah Loafers Run True to Size?
For sizing on the Coach Leah loafer, I went with my usual larger size in shoes. I’m typically an 8 in sandals or heels, but an 8.5 in almost all flats. I find the Coach loafers run true to size in that sense. As far as the width of the Leah platform loafers, these are also true to size. I’m a standard medium width, and found these to be just right.
Are They Comfortable?
I have worn these Coach Leah loafers a lot, and they’re quite comfortable. I wear these little no show socks in black since I prefer to not go barefoot in a loafer. These are one of the few flats I can wear all day long. They have gotten even more comfortable with time as you break them in. Truly a comfortable loafer in my book.

Coach Leah Loafers Outfit
If you’re in need of a new shoe for fall this year, a lug sole loafer is really it. It’s one I reach for a lot for fall and winter, but you can even style it in those early spring days. I also have a whole post on how to style loafers for fall and winter.
With A Dress And A Black Sock
I love this combination to dress down a dress like a blazer dress (or really any type of fall or winter dress). Simply add a loafer and a cute sock. You can even add a pair of tights here as well for a polished look that’s great for the office or dinner with friends.
Casual With Wide Leg Jeans And A Tee
Chunky loafers pair perfectly with all those straight leg jeans and even wider leg ones like I did here. I love this combination for early spring or early fall days. Add a simple tee or tank, and throw a nice sweater over your shoulder for a little interest.
Mini Skirts With A Loafer
I just adore a mini skirt paired with a loafer. It’s a classic combination and great for so many seasons. Super fun with even a printed or sheer sock. You can also style them with some opaque tights for a very chic look for skirts and shorts.
Straight Leg Jeans And Loafers
For fall and winter, I always like to pair my go-to straight-leg jeans with loafers. They balance out the slim fit and you can wear an oversized button down on top, or a cozy knit. For the dead of winter, just add a fun sock here to keep those ankles warm.

The moral of the story is if you haven’t checked out Coach in a while, now’s the time to check it out. Not only are these Coach loafers a favorite in my closet, but I now have the Coach Tabby bag added to my growing Coach collection. But trust me, the Coach Leah loafer is a must have for your closet.
This is a brand I am now keeping my eye on for new shoes and bags to add to my closet. Funny how that all works out.
